What does Caelo make?

Two enrichment mats and a bundle. The Caelo Mat is food-grade silicone, for wet food (peanut butter, yoghurt, wet food). The Caelo Forage Mat is deep-pile fleece, for dry food (kibble, treats, dried liver). The Quiet Hours Bundle is both mats together at a saving.

What's the difference between the two mats?

The Caelo Mat is a silicone surface with channels and a honeycomb section, sized at 21 × 21 cm, with a suction-cup base. You spread wet food across it and your dog licks it off. Dishwasher-safe.

The Caelo Forage Mat is a fleece mat with deep folds, sized at 69 × 53 cm. You hide dry food inside the folds and your dog sniffs it out. Machine-washable.

Which one should I start with?

If your dog inhales dry kibble and paces afterwards, start with the Forage Mat. If they need calming during crate training, bath time, or vet visits, start with the Caelo Mat. Both work for fast eaters — they just attack the problem from different angles.

What size dog are the mats suitable for?

Both work for any size. The Caelo Mat (21 × 21 cm) is fine for a 4 kg terrier and a 40 kg labrador. The Forage Mat (69 × 53 cm) gives more surface for larger dogs but works perfectly for small dogs too. Always supervise your dog with any feeding accessory.

Are they dishwasher / machine washable?

Caelo Mat: yes — top rack of the dishwasher, normal cycle. The silicone is food-grade and won't degrade.

Forage Mat: yes — top of the washing machine, normal cycle. No suction base by design, so the whole mat washes.

What can I put on the Caelo Mat?

Anything safe for your dog: peanut butter (xylitol-free), wet food, plain yoghurt, mashed banana, kibble mixed with bone broth. Use portions from your dog's normal daily food, not extra — it's the same meal on a slower surface. Avoid anything hot.

What can I put in the Forage Mat?

Dry foods that sit in the folds: kibble, training treats, dried liver, dried fish skins, freeze-dried meat. Skip anything sticky or wet — use the Caelo Mat for that.

Can I freeze the Caelo Mat?

Yes — we recommend it. Loading the mat and freezing it for at least an hour extends a session from a few minutes to twenty or thirty.

What colours are available?

Caelo Mat: four colours — Blue, Green, Orange, Natural. Forage Mat: two colours — Brown, Green.

How long do they last?

The Caelo Mat is food-grade silicone and should last years of regular use. The Forage Mat is fleece — it typically lasts 12 to 24 months with regular washing, depending on how often it's used and washed.

Will my dog destroy them?

Both mats are feeding surfaces, not chew toys. They're durable enough for normal licking and foraging, but they aren't designed to be chewed. If your dog is a determined chewer, supervise them or take the mat away once the food is finished.
